So I’d been reading a forum, where they talked about ‘reading dangerously’ for a year.  To step out of the reading comfort zone a bit.  Read new authors, new genres, et cetera et cetera and so on and so forth.

I’m typically timid with my reading, constantly re-reading George R.R. Martin’s Song of Ice and Fire and Robert Jordan’s Wheel of Time series.  So this seemed like a grand idea, and once I finished my last reread of ASoIaF (see?), I decided to read dangerously.  I have no theme or set number of books, just two criteria, either:

  • I’ve never seen the book before (almost ‘plucked up at random’) or
  • I’ve seen it around, been interested, but for whatever reason just put the book back on the shelf

I’ll tally the books on this page, and add comments in the blog.  My comments may not be especially earth shattering, just my usuall ill-formed, undigested feelings.
