When MaxoidDrea makes one.

“Basically, we’re not changing our EULA, which everyone agrees to when they install our games, and says that people cannot profit commercially from selling modifications of our pixel people game, but some people ignore it and do make money, and everyone should respect that.”

Umm.  Right.  So I suppose, seeing as we can ignore EULAe so easily now, EA will not mind if people go around pirating the game.  No?  Well why not change the EULA if paysites are ok?

I will not be buying The Sims 3.  There, I’ve said it.  I’m sure Mr Vexation will be overjoyed to hear it (although he may be disappointed that I’m not getting rid of The Sims 2).  And I’m not alone.  There is now an open letter and  petition which we can sign online will be printed and posted to EA on 31 March 2009.

Go!  Sign it!  Protest the lack of clarification!  Protest the leeching of chilluns pocket money by big fat greedy paysites being given the greenlight!

BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

‘Nuff said. :)

All may be saved!  JMPescado, Sims 2 modder, crusader against all paysites, owner of More Awesome Than You and Paysites Must Be Destroyed, rescuer of the Insimenator, has offered Coconut a new home on his server.  Reports indicate that Coconut will indeed accept.

Let’s see TSR take on Pescado!  They’ve only failed a million times before!

From one of my most favouritest series of books ever:

“When you tear out a man’s tongue (blog?), you’re not proving him a liar, you’re only telling the world that you fear what he might say.”

–Tyrion Lannister, A Clash of Kings, A Song of Ice and Fire by George R.R. Martin.  May he one day finish the next book.

Found the right quote eventually. :)

FREE COCONUT!!

For some time, within the realm of the Sims franchise, there has been a festering, cesspool of foetid industrial waste that sullies the good name of crap (FIWtStGNoC), carrying out nefarious deeds, sharing paypal information of its subscribers, carrying out illegal DDOS attacks on legitimate websites, and worst of all, charging money of the downloading of FIWtStGNoC pixels.

This cesspool calls itself… The Sims Resource.  People with more than one functioning braincell call it… The Shit Resource.

But there has been hope.  A beacon of hope, you could call it.  Shining the light on the cesspool that is The Shit Resource.  Coconut!

Coconut has been diligently whistleblowing on the TSR doings for a long time now, but due to TSR’s EVILL doings, is continually being shut down for the false crimes of being ‘defamatory’ or ‘libellious’.  This has forced Coconut to move around, from blog to blog, unable to find a place to call home.

It seemed, for a while, that on WordPress it had found that home.  But no.  TSR’s evil threats and whining has once again shut Coconut down.

I call upon WordPress to FREE COCONUT!  The People Need to Know what they are getting into before they sign up with TSR, who feel free to share their customers’ personal information among people who, let’s face it, could be anybody over the internet.  Maybe even axe murderers.  They feel free to ban users, and keep their subscription money, for the crime of not being all sunshine, rainbows and lollipops in their comments on the *ahem* ‘creations’ *ahem*.  They feel free to place trojans in their files (which actually, aren’t their files, they belong to EA, so it’s illegal for them to be modifying them like this, never mind selling them), to track who downloads it and shares it; trojans which can actually cause damage to your PC.

See here for information on Coconut, TSR and other greedy Sims 2 paysite goings on.

For something to be defamatory, it must be false.  Coconut’s postings include screenshots which prove that the TSR-ites are in fact doing these things.  For WordPress to ban or hide Coconut’s page is inexcusable.
